Oil & Gas

As the leaders in hazardous area safety, we’ve been working on oil and gas projects in Australia and South East Asia for over a decade. We have the experience to understand the risks and the products and people to control them.

We deliver proven, customisable habitat systems, hot work management services, EEHA rentals, confined space entry equipment, and atmospheric management solutions. These products give our clients the confidence that their projects are being executed with ALARP safety protocols, world-class quality, and optimised productivity.

Maintain production and safety

Shutdowns are costly, sufficient resources are hard to come by, and plans are congested with competing work scopes – often leading to cost and schedule overruns.

Our hot work management service and pressurised habitats are designed to relieve pressure on shutdown schedules and allow work scopes to be completed during normal facility operation. This saves our customers millions in reduced shutdown days and allows for the safe completion of critical path works before or after a shutdown.

Reduce hot work permits and costs

Electrical regulations in most Australian states and territories require non-certified electrical equipment used in hazardous areas to be accompanied by an ignition risk management program and hot work permit, often including standby personnel and continual gas monitoring – an inefficient, costly and ineffective risk mitigation method.

Safehouse has the solution with our range of IECEx certified portable electrical equipment – fully compliant with AS/NZS (IEC) 60079-14. Our equipment eliminates ignition sources and requires no hot work permit or continuous monitoring – allowing you to maintain full compliance with standards and regulations, enhance safety and increase productivity.

When non-Ex equipment is the only option, our pressurised habitats can enhance your risk management program by encapsulating potential ignition sources, preventing the ingress of gas and protecting your people and assets.

Increase productivity and manage heat stress

Heat stress is a major challenge for the oil and gas industry in hot or humid climates. High ambient temperatures and heat from process often leads to low productivity and health risks for personnel.

In potentially explosive atmospheres, historically, the only options to manage heat stress have been administrative controls like heat rest breaks or PPE – lowest-ranked on the hierarchy of controls.
Our zone 1 IECEx certified air conditioning systems solve this perennial problem by providing an engineered control – increasing productivity, improving comfort, and eliminating heat stress.

Solving your challenges

Projects are rarely simple in oil & gas. The complexity of facilities, remote work sites, ever-present hazards, and high levels of regulation and compliance often cause otherwise simple tasks to become very challenging. Safehouse can help – using our decades-long experience working in hazardous environments, we work with our customers to develop bespoke engineered solutions. We can deliver modifications to non-certified equipment to make them compliant with AS/NZS (IEC) 60079 series (IECEx) standards, or design and manufacture one-off items. Our engineering and project management teams work with you to develop the right solution – on time, every time.
